80% of UK Tars members never attend a Tars event.

Like PeterH I don't think this is unusual, but neither is it necessarily a reflection on the reluctance of members to take part. TARS manages to cater for all - those who like to experience the physical side, ie walking, camping, sailing, etc., those who like to meet to discuss and dissect the books, and those whose membership consists of the anticipation of waiting for the excellent publications to arrive through the letter-box. "Armchair" members have their places in societies as do the more out-door types.
The variety of events, both outdoor and indoor, is reflected in the list of events at national and regional level.
