If somebody could look in the archives and find the Nautical Almanach for 1932 (or 1931) they could check the tide tables and find out the exact dates on which these events happened.

I hate to break it to you... but these events never happened. It's a story. I don't suppose AR consulted the tide tables when he decided to tack one tale on to the back of another. They are rattling good yarns with a lot of realism in them but one can't expect all the loose ends and allusions to tie up. Historians have problems trying to make sense of real events in the past, stories are written for effect rather than accuracy.
