I was quite sad when I read in Brogan's biography of AR, that he was not happy with cast or crew durring the filming.
I have a copy of the letter AR wrote at the time very annoyed at the director's suggestion that the rocks in the Peel Island harbour should be blown up. AR encouraged everyone to 'sound their motor-horns' in protest when it was eventually shown on television. He was also annoyed at his publisher's who had offered the film company an option on Peter Duck. Judging by the poor job they made of S&A I for one am pleased they didn't take up their option.
