Beccles Staithe

At a guess, and reading the text, the Teasel moored on the south bank of the Waveney at the west side of the cut which is today's staithe, that is close to Beccles (old) Bridge rather than the site further east shown on the new map. You aren't allowed to moor there today, probably to give modern hullabaloos a better chance of getting through the bridge without hitting anything.

But it is clear from the text that the Teasel was moored in the main river, not the side cut, and was opposite the Mill which I assume became the late lamented timber yard.
