Thanks, Adam, for correcting my date error - I confused thirteen with thirty. The Wilde case took place in April 1913 just before AR's first trip to Russia in May. And according to both Brogan and AR himself, although Lord AD's lawsuit failed, AR was caused a great deal of distress. Brogan describes Douglas as a 'vexatious litigant' and these people can do enormous damage. In this area, 'common law' systems are totally inadequate.
