An interesting point, especially about traveling via London. After all, in SW, Nancy could well have said "London last night" (with Aunt Helen), and now Pin Mill" (or The Naze).

Atlanta Georgia is very much like that in the American Southeast, and has been for ages (as we reckon time Over Here). There's a saying in the Southeast, "If you die and go to Hell, you'll transfer in Atlanta." The expression is well over a century old, and refers to train routes.
