Royal Geographical Society lecture by Christina Hardyment

TARS and "Ransomey" people may wish to know that Christina Hardyment, author (of "Captain Flint' Trunk"), journalist and TARS member is giving a lecture entitled "British Writers in their Landscapes" on the evening of Thursday 24 May at Windermere St Anne's School, Windermere, Cumbria. Some years ago Christina wrote a book, "Literary Trails". The Royal Geographical Society, which is holding this event, is delighted that Christina is willing to talk on the links between the British landscape and the works of some of our best known authors - ranging from Jane Austen and Thomas Hardy to Beatrix Potter and yes, of course, Arthur Ransome.

Christina's lecture will be at 7.30pm, preceded by the sale of drinks from 7.00pm. If you would like to attend, please contact the Receptionist at Windermere St Anne's School on 015394 46164 to book a seat.

The cost is £5 for adults - free for students and Fellows and Members of the RGS.

All are welcome.

Paul Flint
RGS NW Region Committe and member of TARS.

Address of event: Windermere St Anne's School, Patterdale Road (A592 Windermere - Kirkstone Pass road), Windermere, Cumbria, LA23 1NW.
