Maybe AR got the whole idea from Gilbert and Sullivan's PIRATES OF PENZANCE.
He just changed the gender of the Pirate King so that we now will have a Pirate Queen. However, Frederic, as The Slave of Duty, will be ably played by John, another Slave of Duty.
