A "replica" is surely an historian's and naval architect's best guess at what something was like. The "Golden Hind" berthed on the south bank of the Thames is a "replica" - and a good one.

The "Pioneer" is not - there was no need for guesswork, because her original form was retained and her timbers were replaced piece by piece.
