A Google (actually Dogpile) search finds the website for “Folbot, the stable Kayak”. The firm was was started in London by Jack Kissner in 1933, and they were used to circumnavigate the UK. But he moved the firm to New York City (= Long Island?) in 1935, to tap the North American market, then to Charleston, SC in 1955. The firm is now run by Phil Cotton, and the new design is the Greenland II (was there a Greenland I?).
