I was reading an essay by Anne Fadiman recently where she talked about her love for the English Arctic/Antarctic explorers, Scott, Shackleton, etc. Which brought me to think about how Nansen, with his scientific and successful expedition was the model that the SAD's followed, and what could have happened if they'd preferred reading about the others.
Titty goes to the igloo door- "I am just going out and may be some time"- and disappears into the blizzard. Roger immediately demands her chocolate.
