After SW it clearly was going to be the Commander's official residence at HMS Ganges, Shotley.
So presumably before that it was Married Quarters at whatever Naval base from which Ted Walker's ship was commissioned - perhaps Chatham. Mary Walker would have had social and pastoral obligations towards the sailors' and officer's wives, with three (imaginary but still very real) gold stripes on her handbag.
