All "Real" Art is "Magic" (whatever "Real" Art is. That was the Great Topic for endless informal discussion in Art School and we NEVER came to a solid conclusion). It is what pushes the experience "over the top" - makes it memorable - yet there is NO formula. Money cannot buy it. It is a gorgeous day - a trip through Heidelberg Castle, a day in the Rain Forest, writing a story -- it is -----

Most things (visual art, literature, music, whatever) usually do not have this magic. But if it does, we subconciously know it. Mr. Ransome's works have that magic, I believe. His drawings in the books do. There is a certain "Magic" about the songs of the sea that are scattered throughout the stories (unfortunatly, there they only words on paper, but in our minds we can hear them). These are all things that are without formula and cannot be bought at any price.

How do I know if I am creating "ART"? I don't know, I just MAKE and not worry about it. How do I know if something I am experiencing is Magic, I just let it flow. Magic is called "Magic" because it is unexplainable. When it is explained, it is usually no longer magic AND one person's Magic in not always another person's Magic.

OK, OK, I'll get off my soap box.

PS - I DO wish you much $ucce$$ in your Magical Career - for if your reading and interpretion of Mr. Ransome is Magical, you will be amply rewarded!!!
