In PP Peggy (Chapter II) says that the Swallows won’t have Swallow until their mother arrives at Holly Howe. Swallow & Amazon are in both PD and ML, but they are “imagined” stories.
Arthur Ransome seems to have had some (ex-) military (Army) officers among his acquaintances (Colonel Busk, the Russells, Liddell Hart) but no naval officers? So no-one to offer advice on Cdr Walker.
