Those of us in the UK had an opportunity to watch "The Wild Gourmets" on Channel 4 at 2030 last night.
One topic was netting, killing and preparing rabbit for the evening meal. It is much easier to skin a rabbit if you chop the paws off first with an axe having first removed the entrails.
This with the gathering of wild vegetables plus cultivated onions made for a good meal.
Pity this wasn't available for Dorothea in the 1930's!
Next week it is squirrel - ISTR being rather ill last time I eat squirrel.
