Later, in Chapter XVIII of PP, the Visiting Seal, Nancy, says after tasting the rabbit:
“I don’t believe even Susan’s cooked a rabbit … I know we haven’t. When the Swallows come and we all go exploring or something, we’ll catch rabbits and cook them. It’s ten times better than just digging things out of tins”.
There are the fish that Titty & Roger catch in SD, and Susan cooks, and then waits for the others to come back and eat them!
