I am sure that the milk the various farmers provided when they were camping, the meals at Tyson's etc. would all have been paid for by the adults behind the scenes, whether as a lump sum per week or by the milk can. When The Ds and Swallows stayed at Dixon's or Holly Howe, in WH there would have been a payment for bed and board.
