The link to AR is of course that he would have travelled through here as a boy with his family on his way to Nibthwaite every summer, presumably changing further on at Coniston for Greenodd Station on the Lakeside line. He'd have also passed through on his many subsequent holidays in the Lakes, possibly alighting there during the 1900's when he stayed in Cartmel, though Cark station is slightly closer. Grange also had a service to and from Kendal, the "Kendal Tommy" which he might have used when in Cartmel - I'd like to think so...
