While there is 'more of it about', in reality there are more people to do the acts, and the media is a No.1 fear inducing factor. Lets face it, you hear, see or read one feel-good story(despised by 'true' news afficionados) for every thirty shoot'em/rob'em/rip'em off stories, which formerly were ignored apart from a couple of lines on the bottom back page. Yet 95% of kids get through their teens with no public blips on the radar and settle into adulthood quite respectably, some with a sense of adventure even.
