The rhyme I learned as a child is very similar:

The cuckoo comes in April
He sings his song in May
In the middle of June
He changes his tune
And then he flies away
In August away he must.

Interesting that some rhymes have "she" and some have "he". Is it the male or female cuckoo that sings? Or do they both sing?
