Greetings from Hawaii. I was born and raised in England, now residing here.
When I was young and living near Cromer, Norfolk, I remember reading Arthur Ransome's
books. My father bought an old Austin 6 car from a dealer. It later turned
out that Arthur Ransome was the previous owner(from new) and he called it "cabbage"
because the first 3 letters of the license plate were "CBJ". I had the
pleasure of meeting Arthur very briefly when he came to our house when we moved
to Chertsey, Surrey. I don't remember much about the meeting as I was very young.
But I do remember he was very kind and friendly. He autographed several of his
books for us.
I never knew about his travels in Estonia or his marriage, so I found the post
very interesting.
It's a small world isn't it.
