I don't know for sure but would certainly not expect commercially-available NVG equipment to be ready to cope with unexpected bright lights. IIRC military a/c and ships equipped with NVG have special compatible cockpit/bridge lighting. Probably need to keep someone else without the gear looking for"bright" lights. Still wouldn't help in poor visibility due to weather (see WDMTGTS).
