On the literary side, Joy, Rugby also produced Lewis Carroll, Rupert Brooke and Matthew Arnold - all possibly better known than Thomas Hughes.
However I suspect most public schools could provide a goodly list of well known authors.

Rugby also produced William Webb Ellis who started the eponomous game. Also Neville Chamberlain of Munich fame.

Glad you have joined the hospital escapees.
