Seeing various choices may prompt people to want to discuss them. This possibility was mentioned in passing when the facility was being set up, but we never had a final agreement about it.

Should comments on people's reading matter go in the list itself or here on Tarboard..? And do the originators propose we should limit the discussion solely to books..?

As an example, Adam Quinan's choice"
"A Swiftly Tilting Planet by: Madeline L'Engle"
where "they travel through time to stop the madman."
immediately makes me think of "Les Visiteurs" which was the film sensation that swept France 5 or 6 years ago (Yes Peter, that peculiar video we showed you on your way to Wales).

In it, Comte Godroi de Montmirel gets slipped a magic potion by a witch he has just arrested, which makes him shoot (with a crossbow) his intended father-in-law. He tries, helped by his father's mage, to go back in time and sort it out. The magic goes wrong and brings him instead, accompanied by his faithfull ecuyer Jaques Couilles, into the 20th century.
