ISTR Peter Jackson filmed the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy in one go, so obviously such an effort is possible. A complication in this case no doubt would be the ages of the principal characters, and limitations imposed on the filming as a consequence. However, if SA were to be well-received by the backers, I'm sure any difficulties could be managed.
