For me, the main thing Saville shares with AR is an ability to make me want to visit the places he writes about - just as reading AR led me to persuade my family to pay its first visit to the Lakes, Saville had us exploring the Long Mynd and the Stiperstones, and the ancient town of Rye. Just as with AR, it is possible to visit some of the places in the books in real life - including the house that served as a model for Witchend.
