There was a “spinoff” to Treasure Island, the 1950 film – “Long John Silver” with Robert Newton the boozy (in real life) actor as long John Silver, also made (in Australia) into a TV series.
And H. A. Calahan who wrote some sailing books also wrote a sequel to Treasure Island: "Back to Treasure Island" (1935).
