I've been seeing relatively recent paperback reprints in the US
maybe from David Godine Publishers?) but I don't believe they've
reprinted beyond Secret Water yet.
I've been noticing (as a newcomer to TARS) how many people don't seem
to enjoy Peter Duck and Missee Lee--presumably because they are the
more fantastic tales and less grounded in real life?
I have to admit finding PD a bit of a surprise--and disappointment--when
I first read it but have since come around to thinking it one of my
favorites. It is a rollicking good read. Missee Lee may be more a
matter of taste; if you've ever had to learn Latin, of course, the
book is a complete hoot, but it certainly does hang out a bit on the side
from the rest. I think, though, you really have to admire
the versatility and daring of AR. He wasn't content to
just do the same thing over again. The richness of the whole series is
in its variety.
