As one who has directly benefited by Ed's response to a request for information from his digital archive, I sincerely hope that Ed remains with us. His quiet but carefully considered posts have added so much to my enjoyment of TarBoard.
I may have in the past been guilty of firing off a post without due care, and if in the process I have offended anybody, I humbly apologise. It is never my intent to hurt anybody. All the topics on this board have at least some interest for me, and help me in the full appreciation of AR's work. The fact that a topic meanders is usually because the poster draws from experience of things other that AR to illustrate a point. This doesn't worry me at all. In fact it enhances my general knowledge, so can't be all that bad.
