Since the thread is "Most Recent Messages" I would think the way Ian has set it up is fine. If what is wanted is "Messages in reverse order of posting" then we get a duplicate of the whole board. Personally I think the value of Most Recent Messages is exactly that - the further back in the list I go the harder it is to understand or remember the thread in which the messages appear.

On images, as noted by Ian and others, we cannot actually post images directly to the board so they don't take up space on the Tarboard server, but they do impact the download time. And as Jock says, for images on other websites, esp. not our own images, it is good net manners to link to them rather than incorporate them directly.

If we can't provide a suitably compressed image then linking to it (with a warning about size) is probably better than direct incorporation via IMG SRC anyhow.
