The plus for the D's was they were actually there and had the confusing instructions illustrated by practical demonstration. I too read right past them when I first discovered them in the fine library up the road from my hated school, and to where I retreated as often after the school day as I could get away with(two buses to catch and if I missed them my late home arrival was fraught with reproaches). As much as I love small boats, the technical terminology bores me rigid. But show me what to do and I'm fine!
