It's a valley on the north end of High Topps, where Tilberthwaite Gill curves North eastwards. The valley looks more like the drawings, including the Clifford Webb ones (it could take four tents), and above all it has a cave in it (photos on the Yahoo site). Swallowdale 1 on the other hand is in exactly the right location, but isn't a very convincing valley with only a small stream through the west end with a tiny waterfall.
Worth a look, anyway. Take a torch and copies of the relevant drawings! Let me know when you might be over again.

P.S. I like the idea of having a local Swallowdale when you were young. This is one of the things I try to get across in The Outlaw - that you can have your own (local) locations.
