My point was that AR is NOT a feminist author, simply because the concept did not exist in his day. To call him one is sloppy academic thinking.
That he wrote books that can be admired from the feminist point of view is a quite different statement, which I would not deny. But I am against academic anachronisms.

P.S. Something wrong with this thread, which has split three ways. This makes it hard to answer in one place.
