I would think she turned out like the "Diane" character in the British comedy series "Waiting for God". "Diane", if I remember correctly in the series, was a photographer during WWll and got herself into quite a few unusual places, was quite opinionated, bossy and very capable of putting people in their places - just like our Nancy.
