Yes, but you have to look very hard nowadays to find that old tradition. However, as Peter C is, I think, an ex-BBC hand, I hope I can cheer him up by praising the current Radio 4 series commemorating the journalist Charles Wheeler who died recently. Today's programme, featuring the return of a looted painting to a German museum was the old BBC at its best - calm, clear, cultured voices telling an unfolding story in a totally unpatronising way. It was very gripping.

Getting back OT - the BBC radio "Swallows and Amazons" is on the BBC 7 repeat rota, so it comes round about every 18 months, maybe two years. It's been mentioned before on TarBoard. If anyone misses it, you haven't that long to wait before the next repeat. I hope the new film is up to that standard and preferably even better - i.e. a return to that BBC 'tradition'.
