The “N-word” is used in ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’; 1960 but set in the 1930s, when the adult hero, lawyer Atticus Finch is accused of being a “n…-lover”. And in the book by Joseph Conrad (but if I print it in full I will be zapped by the website!).
