My favourite alternative reality is where we could assume the character of one of the children and act out the stories; Perhaps being a new character and taking part in the adventures might be better. What a thrill to recognize each character, hear them speak and join in. That's my reality.
And what a great reality to inhabit. If one assumes that one would be fully in the "book world" of AR then there would be no World War II or any other unpleasantness to contend with. One could simply enjoy long hot sunny days (!!!) sailing on the composite Coniston/Windermere lake and feasting on bunloaf, apples and ices bought in Rio.
I think I will be joining you in this reality John.
