There is a good drawing of the Amazons in a carriage with the GA (hidden by a parasol) and mother, as the frontispiece to 'Swallowdale' drawn by Clifford Webb: "Those can't be the Amazon pirates". In this they are wearing large brimmed hats rather than the hair bands in PM, and sort of tiered long frocks. I will try to scan and post this drawing asap.
