As Jock says, there are several ways to resize a picture. If using Windows, the simplest way is to open the photo in MSPaint, and use Image, Stretch to scale down both horizontal and vertical dimensions by whatever percentage to give the size you want.

Of the pictures shown on Jock's linked page, Virginia is closest to Bluenose, and her drawing gives a reasonable idea of the rigging. Then there's a large painting of Bluenose II at http://www.gbtate.com/paintings/G%20Nemethy%20bluenose.jpg which will also help. (This and the following links are not clickable -- you'll have to copy and paste them into your browser's address window. The painting is far bigger than can be shown in your browser, but clicking on it should bring it up to full size.)

Does your model have squaresails on the foremast? Your mention of raked masts makes me think she could look something like, say, the brigs Pride of Baltimore or Le Recouvrance. There are very good photos of Le Recouvrance at http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a0/La_Recouvrance.JPG and http://farm1.static.flickr.com/106/306673402_7a3f79d00e_o.jpg (each far larger than the browser window) which both give an excellent idea of the rigging.

This is a small picture of Pride of Baltimore to give you an idea of the type.
