The finest back handed compliment I hav eever been paid, since it appears in a book written by a famous real life explorer who was also a distinguished military man.

The rest of the sentence reads "...whirling it round over his head in an arc before letting go. The damage that might have been done, in less skilled hands, was not to be thought of."

You can pick up the right technique an an hour or two; Nancy could have done it, but not with a seven pound lead; a three pounder would be about right for her. This is for use in deeper water or at speed; feeling their way into Scrubbers' Cove at low speed she needed only to swing it forward a little.
