I'm a big HP fan but I have to say Order of the Phoenix is my least favourite (and a lot of other HP fans too). I'm not surprised you couldn't get into it. If you want to try again i'd suggest Prisoner of Azkaban.
Meanwhiel i've aquired a taste for teh works of H Irving Hancock. The plots are somewhat repetitive but its still good fun
