I suspect this is roughly equivalent to the U.S. status of an incorporated nonprofit, and is being done to ensure limitation of liability for officers and directors and the ability to secure insurance guarantees and the like. In the U.S. such an entity is also eligible for substantial discounts on postal charges via what is called second-class mail, although it has to be packaged differently; is that also true in the U.K.? Have TARS thought about whether there is any value for equivalent incorporation in other countries? (I don't have a recommendation for or against but I'm aware of both positive and negative issues.)
