I think that perhaps you may not be familiar with Enid Blyton's Famous Five books. Although
I admit that I enjoyed reading them first time round, today they seem like a poor parody of AR.
The chief ingredients in FF books: the outdoors, secret tunnels, villains and plenty of elaborate
meals described in the minutest detail. It was AR's descriptions of elaborate meals, as in the case
of the meal at the end of the battle with Captain Flint, rather than mere 'feasting' that I was
searching for.
