Since Ian's announcement of the imminent demise of our beloved Tarboard only a little over two weeks ago on October 13th, some of us have been exploring various options to maintain one of the best sites on the internet.

The ideal in our eyes was to migrate the existing Tarboard to a new server location and continue in the same vein as before with others taking over Ian's responsibilities.

To that end a small group has been discussing with Ian how this could be done. We are working on transferring TarBoard to a new site and are receiving considerable assistance from Ian in making this move. I am glad to say we have made enough progress that we feel that it is sure to happen, though the timing still has to be finalised.

We will let you know as soon as we are ready and will set up a process to open the new Tarboard in an orderly manner and ensure that we leave a forwarding address on the existing site for those who don't come here every day like most of the fanatics do. We plan for the process to be pretty seamless, but you will have to update any bookmarks or Favourites settings to the new location.

In the meantime, Ian has kindly consented to keep Tarboard operating for a little longer to give us some more time to try and achieve our goal of keeping Tarboard alive and to give us a forum to inform you all of our progress.

Please stay posted for further developments.
