Indeed. There's the famous union rally in Hyde Park. Those were tumultuous scenes. But the contrast with Germany is pretty stark. There, there was fierce fighting in the streets and people were killed. I don't think that there was the same climate of fear in Britain. Workers feared for their livelihood (which was bad enough) more than for their lives.
