I have been searching through the Clyde Cruising Club guide to the West of Scotland for likely sites. The only Uig I could find was on the Isle of Skye.
It is on the west side of the North East point and it didn't seem to match up with the sketches and description in the book.
The Clyde Cruising Club is a club for small boat sailors and their guide is probably, originally, a compilation of little home made maps and notes like
Mac's. I thought it a very suitable place to look for details.
