I have recently been promoted to the entirely volunteer position of editor of Signals from TARSUS, and through this met a young woman who agreed to edit a section for Juniors to be called, "Pieces of Eight". She is homeschooled, lives somewhere in Colorado where she has to use inter-library loan to get hold of all of the books, and loves reading them. I offered to send her three of our extra mismatched copies (I buy them up when I find them at sales), and I want to share her response, which warmed my heart:

"You really would send them to me? I feel like Titty when Captain Flint gave her the parrot! I don't really mind that they are not matching, I like the stuff inside, not out! Thank you, thank you! But I have to do school or else I'll get in trouble, so... Oh wait, do you need my address?"

So there are kids now who read the books, probably not as many as in past years, but with the same fervor and passion that we did.
