Mrs CB identifies with Susan (she is the only person I know who does).
Right at the back of the kitchen cupboard are three tins of Spam. They have been there for ever. She would not dream of using them to feed her family. I assume they meet some profound psychological need -possibly to ensure that we will never, ever, actually run out of food?
