Maybe you could identify the location of the loch by the vegetation (or lack of it) and the angle of the sun, given the approximate time Dick took his pictures. I have just heard that the archery contest in the Odyssey took place on 16 April 1178 B.C. This has been worked out by the position of the stars. I have included this piece of esoterica just to show that you can work out all sorts of things by examining what available evidence there is and using logic.
