That was the Rum Rebellion, John, when William Bligh (he of the Bounty) was sent home after difficulties in his post as Governor of the penal colony of NSW. He was 'got at' by officers of the army corps, incited by a former member, John MacArthur. (MacArthur is generally considered to have founded Australia's wool-breeding with his import of Spanish merinos.)
The Rum Rebellion predated the Eureka miners' strike by 43 years. Eureka was a very "miner" event by comparison....
